Long sandy beach with generous children's play area, wash rooms, grassy area for picnics, Kiwanis Tea Room open during summer months. 10 minutes by car from host's home. Lots of parking.

Victoria's urban beach. Sandy, spacious, and full of folks of all ages on a hot summer day. Slap on some sunscreen!

“Wonderful huge park situated on the edge of downtown Victoria surrounded by the funky historic neighbourhood of James Bay with many fine restaurants, pubs and more and on the other side of the park boarded by Cook St. village more yet more restaurants, bakery, pub and a fabulous walkable neighbourhood. At the southern end of Beacon Hill Park is the almost endless coast walk. You can walk in either direction and follow the coast to Fishermans wharf, the Parliament Buildings, The Empress and downtown. Or go in the opposite direction and follow Dallas Rd along the famous Victoria Marathon route to King Edward Terrace and eventually Beach Drive with so many historic sites along the way. ”
