The Avalanche has regular live music on most weekends. During the last Saturday afternoon of the month, there is a very active 'jam' session that finds many local musicians participating. Additionally, the Avalanche has regular Jazz nights, although they are not a regular event. We recommend you confirm the musical offering before heading over. Please note - the neighbourhood looks rougher than it is, but it is worth pointing out that it may seem a little sketchy. Once inside, you will be very comfortable.

The Avalanche is the bar scene here in Courtenay, I would recommend it for Friday or Saturday nights.

If you looking for the nightlife with the bar scene and dancing then Avalanche Bar is the place to go on Friday and Saturday nights. This is also one of the few places in town that broadcasts all UFC fights.
