Riverfront Park runs parallel to the Susquehanna River. It's a 4 1/2 mile linear park, meaning it's all in one long stretch. The park was planned in 1901 as part of the "City Beautiful" movement, and it was designed as the centerpiece of Harrisburg’s public park system
Gotta walk Riverfront Park if you're in town. Very scenic and two levels right on the Susquehanna River. Sunrise or sunsets are best here
We go for walks along the river every day! Our favorite route is to go north from Woodbine st up to Division st and then back home on Second st and admire all the beautiful architecture.
Great for a run or biking break. Or just enjoying a Susquehanna sunset. Also a great way to get downtown without crossing traffic.
