Super short 5 minute hike to beautiful waterfall. Trail wraps above the falls.
1/2 Mile lightly trafficked out and back trail, featuring a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. Used for hiking and walking and is best used from May until October.
4mile trail, easy/moderate along a river to a waterfall. Several spots to cool off and most appropriate for people with limited hiking ability/ younger children as many other hikes in the area are quite a bit more strenuous.
Compared to most other waterfalls in Vermont, this is a heavyweight. Moss Glen Brook flows through a sunny open area of mixed forest and meadow. The stream takes a sudden turn into a narrow confined gorge. The stream goes over a couple of small falls (5 foot and 12 foot) then makes a 33 foot drop…

“drive up to beautiful sterling gorge just a couple miles outside of Stowe. MANY hiking options from the parking areas but the falls are a nice, short option. Well maintained but a few steep sections. ”

“Short but still steep hike to a locals swimming hole. Be careful with small children as it's a river with numerous swimming holes and steep sections. Nice views but can be quite busy on hot summer days”

“While Stowe maybe limited in supermarket type shoping, it definitely has a fabulous collection of gourmet food stores. The Butchery is a much appreciated addition to this collection. Visit here for your barbecue steaks, handmade sausages and local organic chicken. And for those in search of something beyond a generic cheddar, you will be more than happy with the outstanding offering of local artisan cheese. Delicious foccacia bread, along with great olive and olive oil selections makes this store a rare find to be savored when you visit Stowe. ”
