A favorite place for hiking, spectacular scenery and lots of cool trails. Bring lots of water.
There are many hiking trails inside as well as right outside the park which we are only a mile and half away from. You may also feel free to explore our property and climb around on the rocks behind the campground.
A bit more off the beaten path than the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands, there are really unique features to be found! Newspaper Rock is a great rock art location on the way in, and the needles and other cool rock formations are unique and out of this world. A great place for hiking. …

“Similar to Dead Horse Point and close thereto is Island in the Sky. From the point one can see the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers and 50-100 miles in three directions. Walking along canyon edges can be mesmerizing, be careful not to fall in.”

“From the alpine ridges of the La Sal mountains to the red rock desert and sandstone pinnacles of Castle Rock, the La Sal Loop Road is a great option for a drive or bike ride. You will see mesas and buttes used in movies and drive past steep peaks that often serve as the backdrop in photographs of the famed Delicate Arch. Check the USDA website for more information. ”

“ There are a couple different entrances. The most spectacular views and hikes are nearest Moab. There is another opening a little closer to Blanding, called the Needles which is 69 miles NW of Blanding, 1 hour 15 minute drive to the entrance.”
