Central Hub of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Atlanta was somehow chosen to host the Centennial Olympic Games in the mid-90’s and beat out Athens, Greece. The games transformed downtown Atlanta in the 90’s and laid the groundwork for its continued progress throughout the early 21st centrury.
It was created for the Olympics - near the World Congress Center. 'Cool off in the Fountain of Rings and enjoy the many festivals and events that take place during the year.' The big Ferris Wheel is pricey but great family or date night fun. Super fun for pictures, and you can buy cocktails!
