When the weather is nice, you can barely see the grass due to the throngs of people lounging around. Luckily, the park was recently renovated and is big enough that you're bound to find a spot you like. The southwest corner is good for a panoramic view of the city skyline (and usually far enough away from the folks enjoying their herbal refreshments on the northern slope). There's also a nice kid's playground, although it's geared more towards older kids.
Not to be missed if you're looking for a local and classic San Franciscan experience. Great place to run or play tennis and a sight for the eyes on a nice, warm weekend day.
A favorite local hangout spot with great views of the city skyline. During summer & early fall they often have outdoor movie nights.

Dolores Park has something for everyone... well at least everyone who isn't scared off by San Francisco's unique brand of weird. Great kids playground, gorgeous views of the city, and usually a guy selling weed-truffles. Grab some lunch at Bi-Rite and have a picnic. Be prepared for it to be crowded…
San Francisco - Weekend hangout spot especially vibrant on nice weekend days. Here you will see SF culture at its fullest. Plan to hang out for a bit. Bring a snack or beverage.
Grab a picnic or just ice cream from Bi Rite and enjoy the day in sunny SF!

“Millennials love to stand in lines. Go mid-morning on weekdays to avoid long lines. But, the food is well worth it! Riches beyond your wildest dreams: butter-golden pains au chocolat, cappuccinos with ferns drawn in dense foam and croque monsieurs turbo-loaded with ham, two kinds of cheese and béchamel. Don't be dismayed by the inevitable line out the door – it moves fast – but be aware that lolling in Dolores Park is the only possible post-Tartine activity.”

“One of our favorite pizzeria! The line may be long so go during non peak dinning time, or put your name there and walk around have a drink!”

“Californian-Mediterranean fare (& a popular brunch) in an outdoor space screening films. High-end and pricey, but delicious and very popular. Reservations are a must. ”
