A fantastic day trip. Go in the summer when the puffins are there in their thousands. You take a little boat to the island but need to get there early in the morning to get a place as there’s no pre-booking but well worth it.

Get to Martins Haven early if you would like to see the puffins. The colony are on Skomer from May till July and draw visitors from all over the world. You can't book in advance as this is a weather dependant trio.

“Dale is lovely for walking, beach and boating activities. Nowhere better to view them than from the Moorings restaurant in the yacht club along the front past the Griffin. The terrace overlooking Dale is wonderful to watch the boats. Great for coffee and cake, lunch or evening meal with a bar and TV.”

“Dale is located on the east coast making it a lovely sheltered little bay and actually holds the sunshine record for the UK!!! The Griffin has always had a good reputation as a bar and recently has added on a lovely extension and serves great food now too”

“The Coastal Path is a walkers paradise and it’s less than half a mile away, so you don’t have to venture far to enjoy the rugged coastline, ancient rock formations, dramatic cliffs, incredible sea views and deserted beaches. Whether you want to take a gentle stroll to the nearby viewpoint, or don your hiking boots to discover some of the 186 miles of spectacular coastline, please do let me know and I’d be delighted to advise you on some local walks. ”

“This relatively large reserve is a mosaic of woodland and grassland with wide, wooded gulleys. Part of the woodland is mature secondary Ash woodland”
