Great place to hike and see the geological features of the area. There is also a miniature model of the stairs in the visitor center that our family created.
Fun hiking trails. Some areas are a bit steep and require climbing some large rocks.
15 minute drive to this fabulous State Park that offers spectacular views, walking trails of various lengths and difficulty (longest is about 90 minutes), picnicking, and a park for kids. If there is a charge it is relatively inexpensive (though I've only been when it is free).

“Only an hour out, the lake is one of the bluest lakes in all of America! They also have a trail that goes around both lakes and is wheelchair accessible and an easy walk. Highly recommend if you have the time while the weather is nice. Open for swimming in the summer.”
