Eastern Market is just one of the most magical places in the world. It’s the biggest open-air market in all of North America, and it just bustles with this incredible energy. People of all backgrounds and all ages are there. Many Detroit farmers and food producers sell there each week. It’s an incredible way to spend a Saturday. Grown in Detroit and Brother Nature Produce are two of the great farm vendors that sell here. Grown in Detroit is the food cooperative of Keep Growing Detroit where a lot of small growers, like home gardeners throughout the city, sell their food.
This is a popular destination during the day. Go early in the day! Enjoy low prices on veggies, fruits, and flowers.
Fantastic local shopping; goods and food! A neighborhood anchor. Saturdays and Sundays, the vendors are expanded. Always a nice morning stroll!

“If you do nothing else while here, you must visit the DIA. A stunning building that holds one of the most unique collections of art and objects. And of course the only place to host a permanent Diego Rivera exhibit - in fact, and entire structure devoted exclusively to his murals.”

“Absolute favorite part of Detroit. In the summer, go to the beach! All walks of life there. Great nature. It's an island in the middle of the Detroit River. Detroit on one side, Canada on the other.”

“Premier contemporary art museum in Detroit, although it is more the size of a large gallery. Lots of events happening here so check their calendar online for more info!”
