From this spot one can admire the complete Barredo area, the river Douro and Vila Nova de Gaia.
Special mention goes to: the Gothic São João Evangelista Chapel and the cloister, the Santíssimo Sacramento Chapel and its silver altar and the eighteenth century Baroque frescos in the main chapel.
Romanesque construction began in the twelfth century.The sacristy, cloister, the tiles and the chapel, are already from the Gothic period. A beautiful 13th century rosace stands out on the west front.
Is located in an enormous plaza that hosts Oporto´s Cathedral where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the city. It´s surrounded by several important buildings as Art Sacra Museum, Casa-Museu Guerra Junqueiro and Paço Episcopal.
