Like most beaches on the south coast of Barbados, the sea at Maxwell beach is a bit lively. However the waters are still calm enough for safe swimming, even for supervised children.

Maxwell Beach-In the St Lawrence Gap area. This is the beach that Sandals and the Bougainvillea hotel are on. It is a great beach for walking and swimming, no rocks and a gentle slope into the water. No lounge chair rentals etc available here but great to pack a picnic and enjoy.

This is North Maxwell Beach and the South version is located closer to the Butterfly hotel. Both are walkable from BK Villas and have beautiful turquoise blue water.

Great for sunbathing, Maxwell Beach is located east of St. Lawrence Gap. Although it is a bit lively, Maxwell beach is still safe enough to enjoy swimming even for supervised children.
