Consider a trip to Landmannalaugar. It’s a truly amazing place. Check the road conditions beforehand. Taking the tourist bus is an option if you haven’t rented a 4x4. Summertime it can be possible with regular car.

Landmannalaugar is a famous and unique part of Iceland, with its natural warm river, in which guests can bathe, free of charge. 4 wheel car is needed to go there and it is not possible to go there in wintertime, when there is a lot of snow and ice, unless with a bus....
