great park tunnel was drilled through the rock to connect the train. just a few miles outside town on shady valley road. you will cross TN line. gorgeous river. hike over tunnel or short hike to a water fall on the other side of road. or swim in several spots. absolutely gorgeous highly recommend.

Beautiful place to take a walk or have a picnic. Be sure to download any maps or information before you go. There is no cell service in this area.

Great place for a hike & picnic! Best to take Hwy 91 to Damascus however great scenic drive on Hwy 421 N but very curvy. About 30-40 min from Airbnb if taking Hwy 91

The short hiking trail climbs a knife-like ridge and follows it above the short tunnel through which TN130 passes and down to Beaver Dam Creek, a pristine mountain stream. It's a beautiful spot for a picnic and wading. Just down the road toward Damascus, you can visit one of the iconic shelters built during the Great Depression by the CCC.
