While the name sounds intimidating, this hike in Hickory State Park is family friendly. Follow a trail along a creek in the woods and discover numerous small waterfalls and unique rock formations.

Shades of Death Trail is a 2.2 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Lake Harmony that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and bird watching and is best used from March until October.

Hickory Run state park - Trail is a little challenging because it’s rocky; it’s more technical than it is strenuous.

Awesome hiking trail. You will climb up and under and over things. There are several water falls and streams to see. It is a beautiful place! I would not recommend taking your pet for a walk there though...some narrow paths and some steep climbs.
