Take a step back in time and envision life as a logging tycoon like Arnold Polson. This mansion is set for a family of historic proportions including a closet filled with dresses from the 1900’s, a kitchen with formally “state-of-the-art” appliances, and a “kid magnet” model railroad. On the museum grounds, the Railroad Camp houses tools of the trade like the 1906 Polson 45 Baldwin locomotive.

All about the logging industry. Aberdeen was the hub of American logging and lumber manufacture in it's history. It is rich with various cultures.

At one time, logging made this area very wealthy, and you can learn a lot of its history at this fine museum and view a lot of equipment used at the time, too. If you have a chance, also take a look at some of the enormous mansions that were built by other logging barons on Broadway Hill in Aberdeen.

I can't say enough about this museum. If you want to understand the growth of the logging industry on the Olympia Peninsula during the early part of the 20th century, you will find it all here. HIGHLY recommend.
