Experience one of Israel’s greatest natural wonders by taking a trip up North to the Hula Valley. Explore the Hula Valley Nature Reserve and see thousands of birds from dozens of species. They represent a small fraction of the 500 million birds that cross Israel’s airspace twice a year. This location for migrating birds to relax on their annual commute from Europe to Africa, is now a reserve thanks to hard working scientists and nature activists. Hula Lake Park, known in Hebrew as Agmon HaHula (Hebrew: אגמון החולה), is located in the southern part of the Hula Valley, north of the nature reserve and distinct from it. The lake covers an area of one square kilometer, interspersed with islands that serve as protected bird nesting sites. It has become a major stopover for migrating birds flying from Europe to Africa and back, and also a major birdwatching site. Participants will get to see not only the beauty and wildlife that the Hula Reserve has to offer, but also an important piece of history.
