Delve into the fascinating history of justice through time at the National Justice Museum, and pay a visit to their sister attraction, the City of Caves, to hear the stories of people that lived and worked in the UK’s biggest network of caves.

Great to see all the caves beneath the city. One entrance to the cave system is inside a shopping mall!

“A preserved water works dating from the 1880s, with 2 huge beam pumping engines and a picnic area. Now protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, the highest preservation order that can be bestowed upon a site in England, the Pumping Station holds regular steaming events throughout the year, wedding ceremonies and education visits.”

“Green's Windmill in Sneinton was built by the father of notable scientist and mathematician George Green in 1807. Today the working Mill is a popular museum and science centre, which teaches new generations of children about the valuable work of George Green. Sadly, the mill was badly damaged by a fire in 1947, but was later restored by Nottingham City Council in the 1980's. The windmill began milling again in December 1986 and the giant sails can still be seen working to this day. George Green was a mathematical genius who developed new ways of doing mathematics, which have helped scientists to understand the world around us. Test your brain power with the hands-on experiments in the Science Centre which explore electricity, magnetism and light, ideal for young children.”

“Some of you may recognise this as Batman’s house, and it is commensurately impressive with beautiful architecture and surrounded by Wollaton Deer Park. The deer roam free here so you can walk right up to them with no fence in between. Please keep in mind they are wild animals and it isn’t a petting zoo, but they are truest amazing to spend time with. There is at least one festival here every year, ‘Splendour’ that’s family friendly and is a good day of music.”
