Located in the middle historic Downing Park across from the pond, you can watch the ducks while you sip your coffee, eat a sandwich or some ice cream.
This is an amazing cafe inside the gorgeous park designed by Frederick Olmstead, of Central Park fame!
Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted & Calvert Vaux (designers of Central Park, Manhattan) on condition it be named after their mentor Andrew Jackson Downing, an illustrious local architect/landscape designer.

“A bit of a hike, but a full-fledged health food store. It has a nice bulk section, a nice coffee selection, produce, lots of refrigeration and - very good prices - often lower than the bigger chain stores.”

“A great place for planned or impromptu meetings with good coffee, strong wifi, local art on the walls and an open, spacious feel. Limited food options include mac and cheese, soup, bagels and pastries. Just a couple of blocks from restaurant row on Liberty Street, a block away from City Hall, walking distance from both Orange County Community College and Mount Saint Mary College. ”
