Fun place to swim in the river when it's hot out. Terrific hiking trails, very family friendly place to go for a day trip.
Oxbow has lots of great trails for hiking, wildlife, and nature viewing. Its one of the only Columbia Gorge wildlife areas that is still open after the Eagle creek fire of 2017.
Great day beaches or grab an inner tube and float from Oxbow park to Dabney park, about 2 hour float. Make sure to park a car at Dabney.
Oxbow's great for close by hiking and camping. Easy access to the Sandy river.

“If you are interested in a beautiful drive, a simple yet gorgeous hike, and soaking in natural hot springs ... well head to Bagby Hot Springs. It is run through a partnership of 'Friends of Bagby' and The National Forest Service. Several camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, and sightseeing spots along the way. Swing by the Forest Service office on your way to gain clear directions. If you miss one turn you'll end up on a much longer journey on unmarked roads. ”
