Damnoni is a seaside settlement of the Community of Marioθ of the Municipality of Agios Vassilios, in the Peripheral Unit of Rethymno, Crete. According to the 2011 census it has 11 inhabitants. It is 35 km from Rethymno and is located 5 km east of Plakias. Damnoni has a long sandy beach which is located inside a bay.

A lovely, sandy beach in South Rethimno with crystal clear waters. Perfect to spend all day there with family and friends. It has some very nice beachside restaurants with great food. It is popular both for locals and tourists, very well developed and organised. Damnoni is located at the exit of a large valley, protected by high mountains.

Very nice snorkeling beach on the rocky sides. Otherwise nice sandy beach to swim. Suitable for children also. Right side of the beach reserved for boat traffic, water sports.Nice walking tours to Kalypso beach, ammoudi beach. Nice restaurants on the beachfront. Showers and sun beds available. You can take a boat from here to preveli beach. The boats go to plakias beach also.Estimated time from Villa Frati Gorge: 23'

Damnoni is located 35km south of Rethymno and 5kms east of Plakias.It is a popular tourist resort very well developed and organized.Damnoni is located at the exit of a large valley, protected by high mountains. The beach that stretches in front of the resort is a long bay with beautiful turquoise waters and coarse white sand.Here you will find all the services of a very well organized beach like umbrellas,snack bars,showers,changing rooms,water sports, scuba diving centre,restaurants, horse riding centre etc. Moreover, there is a tavern in the middle of the beach “drowned” in tamarisk trees.

Damnoni is located 35km south of Rethymnon and 5km east of Plakias. It is a popular tourist resort, very well developed and organized. The beach that stretches in front of the resort is a long bay with beautiful turquoise waters and coarse whitish sand. Here you will find all the services of a well organized beach such as umbrellas, snack bars, showers, changing rooms, water sports, scuba diving centre, great hotels, restaurants, one horse riding centre etc. The west end of the beach, the most organized part, has a small river with water almost all year round. The east end of the beach is quieter and is linked with the adjacent beaches of Ammoudakii via a short dirt road. Moreover, beyond the west end of the beach there are several small coves with sand and rocks, where you can get isolated. These are located just next to the small harbor of the area.
