Palisade Head is a massive rhyolite lava flow within ancient lava flows that occur along the shore from Duluth to Canada. It's a sheer 300 ft drop to the lake with an amazing view of Shovel Point.

Palisade Head is part of Tettegouche State Park along the North Shore of Lake Superior that features beautiful rock formations.

Some of the best views on Lake Superior. Definitely the spot to check out sunrises. Rock climbing is permitted for experienced climbers. FYI van be crowded during tourist season - pick off times to visit.
