Wildlife park in Bourton-on-the-Water, England DescriptionBirdland Park and Gardens, often called Birdland, is a wildlife park in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, England. First opened in 1957, the park moved to its current location in 1989
Birdland is a natural setting of woodland, river and gardens, which is inhabited byover 500 birds ( swans, pelicans, flamingos, hornbills, cranes, storks, cassowary, pigeons, owls and many more) with the only group of King Penguins in England, Wales and Ireland. More than 50 aviaries, open…
Great way to spend a few hours, exploring the different birds and Dinosaurs. The penguins are a must see.
A limestone Cotswold village with many attractions my favourite Birdland with Emperor Penguins.
If you visit here it is well worth seeing the model village in Bourton on the Water too.

Point of Interest
“The Model Village is a one-ninth scale replica of the heart of the beautiful Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, containing all the buildings from the Old Water Mill (now the Car Museum) down to the Old New Inn and the ford, all built in Cotswold stone. In the Model Village you become a giant as you tower above the miniature stone houses. Walk alongside the river Windrush and cross its miniature bridges. Enjoy the miniature gardens complete with flowers and miniature trees. Listen to the choirs singing in the churches, investigate the local shops, and find the model of the Model Village!”

“The Cotswold Falconry Centre is right next to Batsford Arboretum and home to around 150 Birds of Prey. Open from mid-February to mid-November. Free flying demonstrations take place daily from 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3pm and also at 4.30pm in the summer. Unfortunately dogs are not permitted at Cotswold Falconry Centre”

“Lovely place to take children - go when lambing is taking place. A must visit if you have young children to hand feed the animals and they will learn so much about animals.”
