Put on some tennis shoes and enjoy these hikes. Just remember in the summer time to bring insect repellant and watch for snacks and ticks.

The Nature Conservancy/Nags Head Woods offers beautiful hiking trails. You will feel like you've left the beaches and entered into a new place, so many leaves and trees and just a different environment than the sand dunes and beaches you are used to. Take some awesome easy trails (shoes are great but flip flops will manage), and you can find some quiet sunset spots on the sound.
