One of the first "upscale" or trendy spots on the East Side when this area began to explode 8 years ago and it's still a happening scene. Food is great, wine selection amazing, and at night it is hoppin.

Looking for take out in the village? Don't let the name or location scare you away. Burger Win is basically in the gas station and I'm not big on buying dinner at the gas station but everyone in EAV eats at Burger Win at some point. It's really good chinese take out if you're looking for something quick and easy.

One of Anthony Bourdain's stops in Atlanta... SOBA is also home to Octopus Bar. The food is LEGIT good, they do take out pho, and it's very cosy inside.

Where as can you order meatloaf or an iconic burger AND duck into the back to catch an Amazing Performance from a local or traveling musician? The EARL is a legit place to catch upcoming musicians and it's kinda the heart of EAV.

Sightseeing
One of the best things (and worst things if you're concerned about affordable housing) Atlanta has going to for itself. Highly recommend a walk on the Eastside Beltline. Stop for brunch or a drink at one of MANY great patios and get a feel for New Atlanta.

The Carter Center is ideal if you're a nature lover and want to sit on a hill perched above a pond and watch the sunset over the skyline of Atlanta. It's not really a touristy spot - I consider it a local gem and it's best for someone who appreciates nature, quiet, beauty. The real kicker is, though, you may actually see President Carter out walking the grounds. I've crossed paths with him twice out walking with secret service detail. Talk about an amazing experience.
