Very homey inside and lovely patio seating area in the garden. Service can be a little slow at times but sitting on the patio or in the lovely bar area , who is worrying!!

We love The Bell, a little further than most of my suggestions at 6 miles away but a characterful Cotswolds stone pub with atmosphere and good food.

Great pub restaurant especially for light supper. We like it here but prefer to eat at the random tables in the bar area. Log fire in winter and pleasant to sit out the front despite being on the busy Bath Rd.

It is an ordinary pub but has regular live music and various events. The owners are the main contributers to organising musicians for our own Stroud music festival, Stroud Fringe.

Berkeley Castle and the Edward Jenner museum next door is steeped in history with the Berkeley family having lived there for over 900 years. Kind Edward 11 was said to have been murdered here, now at rest in Gloucester cathedral....where much of Harry Potter was filmed..see the dining room and corridors of Hogwarts!

An early Victorian Mansion which was never completed. It is a great area for walking around its 3 lakes but as the parking is approx 1/2 mile from the house it is more of a walkers destination. Much of the netflix series the Crown was filmed here. It is also a wedding destination, a great place hired out for parties and a destination for a nights ghost hunting.

Known for it beautiful trees , especially in Autumn with photographers coming from all over to capture the japanese maples in all their brilliance. There are early summer outdoor concerts, and a winter wonderland walk through the cleverly lit pathways with plenty of mulled wine.

Lovely gardens and tea shop on the outskirts of Painswick, famous for the great expanse of snowdrops in January. The gardens are not that large but pretty for a walk around and popular for smaller weddings.

Stunning views from the common looking over to the River Severn meandering in the distance. Part of the AONB. The sunsets are amazing. We suggest watch the sunset on the balcony at Hillcrest Cottage and then drive up to the common and watch the sunset all over again...
