The Detroit River Walk follows the river. It's great for getting some sunshine, and the nature reserve is beautiful as well. Great view of Canada across the river. An easy way to get there is from the Renaissance Center.

6-mile road around the island is great for riding a bike--there are plenty of bike rental shops around. Or just drive there and stop and view the beautiful natural scenery. There is an annual Grand Prix held here as well.
