Arts & Culture

This Lutheran church was built in the 1960's. It is a must see whilst in Klaksvik. Some of its most distinct features include a full size Faroese open fishing boat, as a tribute to Faroese fishermen. It also has an outstanding altarpiece, depicting the invitation to the great banquet. Finally we would recommend spending some time to take in the churches newest art work, made by local artist Edward Fuglø. The work presents the "Life of Christ" carved and painted on wooden panels.

The ferry terminal which connects Klaksvík to Kalsoy is a 6 min walk away. Kalsoy has become a popular destination in recent years, thanks to the erecting of the Selkie statue. We would recommend paying Kalsoy a visit to see this amazing statue and learn the story behind it. Kalsoy also has some great hikes, and other historical places to visit.
