It's the best museum to get in touch with Dutch history. The building is also very beautiful and it's where you will find the "I Amsterdam" sign on the Museuplein.
The gallery contains the best paintings of the artist and is also really well organized with a beautiful room which collects all of Van Gogh's auto-portraits and the very last room which collects family pictures and press releases about Van Gogh.

A must see for WW2 history. The queue is extremely long at any time of the day, filling up the square nearby very quickly. Try to book tickets online if still possible.

Food Scene
Pluk in the "negen straatjes" is particularly nice for lunch or coffee, and rather healthy. You'll find amazing healthy food but also goodies for your home such as dishes, teas, bags. Personally my favourite coffee place at the moment.

Jansz is a great restaurant in the middle of the famous "negen straatjes" (the nine streets), the atmosphere and interior is really wonderful.

Venus & Adonis is a typical Dutch restaurant, serving of course French food as the Dutch are known for other things than their cuisine to be very honest. Simple meat and sides, in an old house on the canals, and very friendly staff. Reservations might be needed.

John Dorry is a typical Dutch Canal house serving mainly Fish/Seafood. Food is of high quality which comes at a price, but really the best place for fish in Amsterdam.

Near our house the Foodhallen are an old tram station converted into a sort of foodmarket. Great for lunch, dinner or after work drinks. There are live DJs on fridays and saturdays evening. It's a must see!

I love the coffee place there but you can also have lunch or diner in their brasserie in the amazing lobby of the hotel. It is expensive, but just a coffee in their main lobby is worth every penny in my opinion.

This coffee/breakfast/lunch/diner place is located in a former theater. The place is really comfy, a bit tropical, hipster but most of all super chill. They have great smoothies and the food is super healthy. Highly recommended! Beware on weekends it's very busy so it's advised to reserve or get there early.

If you are looking for good pasta in a simple and cosy Amstosphere, Pastini is a nice place. It's in the canals and the touristy shopping area so it might be a good deal if you want a quick bite.

The Pulitzer bar is by far the most beautiful cocktail bar of Amsterdam. It's quite expensive but worth a visit, even for a just beer. This is by far my favorite cocktail place in Amsterdam, right in the middle of the canals of Amsterdam. If you are hungry you can have a bite at Jansz, the restaurant of the Pulitzer hotel.
