Food Scene
This is my favorite spot for Italian in the neighborhood. Reasonably priced, big portions and they can make almost everything on the menu Gluten Free if needed. At night there can be up to a 2 hour wait- so go put your name down early and explore the neighborhood in the meantime or go for lunch. My favorite item is the pizza!

Drinks & Nightlife
Best bar in the immediate neighborhood- gets crowded but is fun and has a reasonable amount of seating. Also has a late night menu of food that is very appealing if you've been out and find yourself starving for a grilled cheese :)

Entertainment & Activities
I LOVE the tenement museum. These are guided tours of buildings that used to be tenement houses and have been restored- such an interesting look into the NYC of days past. They also have a great gift shop. This is only about 10 mins from the apartment.

Parks & Nature
Magical vortex full of live music, bubbles, dancers, tarot card readers. I love it here- can be a bit quiet in the winter but still beautiful. 15 minute walk from the apartment

Shopping
If you are into herbs, crystals, healthy foods, essential oils- check this place out. One of my favorite places in the neighborhood and they also have a cafe inside and cryotherapy/ infrared sauna downstairs.

Essentials
Directly across the street from the apartment theres a DIY, inexpensive laundromat- you can get quarters and detergent inside. They can also do the laundry for you and have it ready next day. Dry cleaners right next door to that.
