This is Canterbury's oldest town founded in 1840 by French Settlers. It is an amazing place to visit. Approximately an hour and a half from the city on Banks Peninsula. There are dolphin tours, markets, hiking tracks and lovely eating places. On the way there is a great winery and a cheese factory.

This is Canterbury's oldest town founded in 1840 by French Settlers. It is an amazing place to visit. Approximately an hour and a half from the city on Banks Peninsula. There are dolphin tours, markets, hiking tracks and lovely eating places. On the way there is a great winery and a cheese factory.
This wonderful pine forest has many walking, cycling, and running tracks. Easy access to the beach along the way. Horse riding tours can also be arranged. If you prefer a leisurely walk you can stroll along the adjoining beach. Perhaps enjoy a coffee and snack or lunch at the beautiful Beach cafe or buy something yummy from 'The Naked Baker' close by.
