Overlooking the mighty Mississippi river and the skyline of the city, the Aster is a candle-lit restaurant-bar with a sweet European patio. Live music, great brunches, craft beers and cocktails, and a thoughtful wine list add up to City Pages calling them the "best place to go on a first date". The menu is fresh and inventive. Wednesday night is open mic night and many of the locally know musicians can be seen performing here.

Today, the Guthrie Theater's mission remains the same but what started off as four productions and a skeletal staff is now a complex that includes three stages: the McGuire Proscenium Stage, the Wurtele Thrust Stage, and Dowling Studio. One doesn't have to be a ticket holder to visit the building and its cafe or lounge. There are also guided and self-guided tours.

The bar at the corner of East Hennepin Avenue and Lourdes Place (org. Prince Street) was called Nye’s since1950, when Albin Nye took over Prince Café owned by Hefron’s, a “working man’s bar” occupying the 1880’s building. From the beginning whenever it was open, Al, a former machine shop foreman at Minar Ford, wasdetermined to be there serving drinks to the mostly blue-collar Northeast crowd.
Al retired in 1994 at the age of 79, and he continued to frequent Nye’s as a customer until his death at the age of 89 in 2004. Nye’s Polonaise Room was sold in 1994 to Steve Anderly and subsequently sold to two Northeast descendants Rob and Tony Jacob in 1999. The Jacob Brothers continued to operate the legendary Nye’s Bar.

It's a beautiful place to visit. Rose gardens and in the summer there are free movie and music nights in the park. In the winter you can find trails to hit for cross country skiing.

This area will keep you busy for hours. Lots of trails. The falls, and so much beautiful nature to see. Also if you're into workouts, it's a great place to run stairs. :) During the summer it's also fun to rent a bike or pedicab and pedal around.
