According to tradition, an image of the Christ appeared to the rich miner, Alonso de Villaseca, which compelled him to build the Templo Villaseca near the Cata Mine. Today, faithful believers from all over the nation come to visit the Templo Villaseca to obtain indulgences, goods, and favors.

Haunted museum that offers tours. It’s said that the house was once occupied by the daughter of the Marquis San Clemente who was the owner of the Cata and Mellado mines. The house operated as a postal office and in 1890 passed to a wealthy mining engineer, Tadeo who bought the house for his fiancé, Doña María Constanza de la Rivera Olmedo. Sadly, Doña Constanza was murdered and her husband, Tadeo went mad after her death. Tadeo contacted a witch to help him communicate with his dead wife. The witch taught Tadeo black magic including human sacrifice. Human remains and books on black magic were found in the house.
