Sunnyside (1835) is a historic house on 10 acres along the Hudson River, in Tarrytown, New York. It was the home of the American author Washington Irving, best known for his short stories, such as "Rip Van Winkle" (1819) and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (1820). This cottage-like estate, designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962, reflects Dutch Colonial Revival, Scottish Gothic, and Tudor Revival influences, with its wisteria-covered entrance and jagged crow-stepped gable.

This has got to be one of my absolute favorite hangouts. Run by Basilio. If you are looking for a unique coffee shop, this is it!
Basilio runs this place like it is, by himself with an extraordinary flare and his own blend of unique humor. Non pretentious, slightly down at heel, relaxed, warm and friendly. You can stay as long as you want inside or out, and read the daily newspapers and magazines he provides.
The lunches are absolutely delicious, various types of salads served with a nice big crunchy warm role, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. He also makes pizza too which is to die for! Small and crisp with delicious toppings.
