One of the best city parks in the US - all free. It has a nice zoo; lake with 2 mile surrounding trail - with kayak, bike rentals and free music on the weekends at the pavilion; Conservatory (feels like the tropics so great in the winter), and amusement park for the kids

Nice place for walk nearby. Begins just across Hennepin, one block west of place on 18th Avenue; which forms up to a 5-6 mile loop from our place if take St. Anthony Blvd. Great views of Minneapolis skyline.

Great bike trail, from Minneapolis to several trails that will take you 40-50 miles into anywhere in the western suburbs. Excelsior is a nice town on Lake Minnetonka, or Watertown if you just want to ride far and grab a decent bite to eat.

Lots of nice trails/sidewalks to walk around with great views of the city and the river. Some nice bars and restaurants on Main St. NE Can actually do a loop with Hennepin Avenue bridge to stone arch bridge and see the other side of the river too.
