Waterside is the subject of a multi-million pound upgrading project. The reception, restaurant, bar and coffee shop have already been upgraded. There is a swimming pool, sauna and gym with exercise classes available. The resort is open to our guests (£6 for an adult swim) and we visit regularly when we are at the barn. Tennis, fishing and walks around the lakes are also available.

Tours and wine -tasting conducted by the owner at this vineyard which now holds the Royal Warrant. A delightful evening out but do book early if visiting in the main season as it is very popular. Based in Nanstallon just outside Bodmin it is only a few miles from Tremodrett.

The Camel Valley trail goes from Bodmin to Padstow via Wadebridge. You can hire cycles at both Padstow and Wadebridge to cycle the old railway route to the coast.

Sightseeing
It is probably the best NT property in Cornwall. There are wonderful grounds to wander amd you can hire bikes to explore. The home's history is really well displayed together with that of life understairs for the servants.

Access currently is not good for those with mobility issues although there is a bus. A walkway over the sea is under development to help with this.

The Camelot Hotel in Tintagel is a special place to visit ( up-market) and has excellent cakes ( pricey but worth it!)

The Old Quay House Hotel

Quickly becoming one of the area's most popular eateries ( mid-high end prices). It is located in a chic warehouse with balconies overlooking Charlestown, which has tall ships and an old harbour used in many film sets. Charlestown is our favourite destination in the area and the harbour has recently been bough by Tim Smit ( owner of the Eden Project).
We also highly recommend The Pier Hotel in Charlestown, recently renovated and the perfect spot down by the harbour for a drink, pub food and good cakes.

Good food as recommended by our guests - and we can attest to their excellent fish pie! You can sit out on their patio with views of the harbour.

Lovely grand hotel in Truro with great afternoon tea or you can just call in for coffee or a drink. You can park there and then just walk into Truro. If you prefer a pub in the area, The Heron at Malpas is highly recommended ( turn towards the village before the bridge in Truro). We have had excellent food there but be aware that parking is limited. The pub overlooks the estuary.

It is used for lots of film sets, including Poldark. You are spoilt for choice with coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. You can also do some walking along the coastal paths.
