Being Cuban, this is my place to go get some home cooking. Very large portions and very inexpensive. It's one metro stop away from the apartment on the green line (Columbia Heights metro stop). It's not a big place and definitely not pretentious. It's always busy, so go early or on off hours or call ahead and check on reservations or see how busy it is before going. It seats maybe 30 people. But if you want to try something different, or if you have tried cuban food and like it, this is the place to go.
