The Monte Cristo is to die for! For the most part, Big Lick's menu consists of $7.95 (drink included) tropical themed plates. It's a little off the beaten path, but worth the trip.

I can't say much for their tequila, we just don't get along too well, but their tacos and prices are right up my alley. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Lynchburg, and I've tried most of them, but El Jéfe is definitely worth checking out.

Burgers, bourbon and beer. If any of those words grabbed you, then look no further. I haven't sampled their alcohol, but the South of the Border burger was fantastic. The location, ambiance and staff are all top notch. Arrive early during the weekends or you may be in for a small wait. Interestingly enough though, they'll text you when your table is ready. Will wonder never cease?

The area and trails, not far from here are worth a visit if you find yourself in Lynchburg. I've never been a huge history nerd, but this town has some great points of interest if you are into that sort of thing.

I'll admit, I'm a little biased about this place. I've worked there for nearly 12 years but still say the same if I hadn't/ It became my "home away from home" when I moved here in late 04'. The family that owns the store are wonderful, caring and generous people and the store has become a must see when travelling through town. As well as being a new and used bookstore, Givens is home to the largest selection of educational supplies in Virginia and land of unique and hard to find toys. The Drowsy Poet rests at the rear of the store and offers coffee, tea, salads, sandwiches, ice cream and the legendary Milton milkshake. Do yourself a service and try one.

Acts such as Billy Bob Thorton and Quiet Riot have performed their over the last few months and people seem to like the place. It's a little off the beaten path, but may be worth checking out...if you're into that sort of thing.
