60 foot waterfall in the Pisgah National Forest. Climb to the top and slide down the rock. This is a fun family activity. The water is chilly though. There's a small entrance fee ($5/person in 2023.)

French Broad Outfitters

Tubing at the Green River about an hour away and worth the drive. $10/person gets you a tube (ask for straps if you want to connect to another tube) and a quick bus ride 3 miles upstream. Float down stream and go over several 1-2 rated rapids over a 2 hour period. Longer 4 hour rides are available, but 2 hours was perfect for us.
