Red Rocks Amphitheatre is an open-air amphitheatre built into a rock structure, ten miles west of Denver. Beautiful views of Denver with tons of hiking trails nearby. This is one of the best venues in the WORLD and has amazing views of Denver. You can hike around during the day. Catch a show if you can it is absolutely worth it. Just be prepared to hike there are a ton of stairs and the altitude is no joke during the trek up. Wear appropriate shoes and bring a water bottle.

Winter, Spring, Fall Weather
I would recommend wearing/packing layers as the weather can be all over the place in CO. The saying is ", if you don't like the weather wait 20 mins." We have very hot summers (rain too last year and it looks like this year as well), very cold winters (-15 is common in December), and the weather is all over the place in the spring (think 80 degrees one day and snowing the next).
We also have an incredible amount of sunshiny days here in CO (it's my favorite part of living here). Bring sunscreen or plan on buying some, especially if you aren't familiar with the altitude. You burn easier here!

Farmer's Markets on Sundays in Old Town Arvada
Old Town Arvada, just a quick jaunt from The Little Red House, has a great farmers market June-Sept on Sundays from 9:00-1:30. They offer a variety of products, all freshly produced and ready to satisfy your everyday needs. If you visit in August, you must try some Palisade peaches, our absolute favorite local to Colorado produce.

National Parks and Camping
If you are planning trips to National Parks/forests, camping while here make sure you check out www.recreation.gov before your trip. There are still many places in CO that require reservations prior to visiting and they tend to fill up quickly.

You'll want a car, but the train isn't far away!
If you are traveling around Arvada, car is going to be the fastest option. We live in a great spot though that has access to light rail trains and a park and ride station is only a few minutes away from The Little Red House. If you are planning a trip to Downtown Denver this may be a good option as parking can be hectic and expensive depending on what your plans are.

Free Summer Concerts at Old Town Arvada
During the summer months, Old Town Arvada hosts a free summer concert series on the second Saturday of the month. It is generally held from 5:00-10:00pm.
There also will be artisan vendors, food, and libations, as well as a kid’s zone to keep the whole family entertained.
The Grandview Stage is located on Grandview Ave in the parking lot between Community Banks of Colorado and 12 Volt. The Square Stage is located in the North West corner of Olde Town Square.
