A short drive. Has a snack bar, restrooms and lifeguards. You can also paddle your kayak/canoe around the lake or rent by the hour. Lifeguard on duty when posted. Not big but great for a day on the lake. No fee

Kayaking
Serene Lake with no motorboats or houses. Parking lot is 1/8 mile from the launch so you do have to carry your boat but well worth it! Take a nice dip after your paddle on the sandy beach. Port-a-potty only.

Plenty to look at as you paddle around the lake. Eagles, loons and houses galore. Can be crowded with motor boats on the weekends so I suggest the weekdays or weekend mornings.

Gore Mountain Gondola Rides to the top. Thursday - Sunday. 360 view at the top with views of the ADK high peaks. Picnic tables and hiking at the top if you want to make an afternoon of it. Pick a clear day for the best views! $24pp/children are free.

Take a walk down Main Street, just 3 miles away. Adirondack style shops and antique stores. Stop in at the cafe for a coffee or Marsha's for a quick bite. Tops grocery store and pharmacy conveniently located on Main Street as well.

North Creek. Over the river and through the woods - Pedal your way along and over the Hudson River on these specially made Rail Bikes that are attached to the old railroad. Offers 2 person side by side or 4 person rail bikes. Flat and no hills so it is great for young and old. Kids can just ride along with adults if they don't want to pedal. 2 hour excursion. Allow extra time to stop in the small museum for some interesting history of the area!
