The Tallahassee Museum is a privately funded, non-profit corporation in Tallahassee, Florida. The stated purpose of the Museum is "to educate the residents of and visitors to the Big Bend area about the region's natural and cultural history, from the 19th century until the present." A considerable portion of the grounds is devoted to the re-creation of rural life in north Florida in about 1880. Included in that effort are homes, gardens, farm buildings (with appropriate farm animals), a gristmill, and a turpentine commissary. Another major portion of the museum is devoted to Florida wildlife, with many animals in relatively large, well-vegetated areas, usually similar to native habitats.

You will love the Truffle Mac-N-Cheese! My dad is a native to Tally and this is in his top 2 restaurants. They have an outstanding wine selection. You can buy by the bottle from the small store in the entry and the cork fee is only 8 bucks. Plan to spend a long time here. They aren't fast or cheap, but they are SOOO worth it. You probably won't find this type of experience many places in the country.

The most amazing, moist, absolutely delicious cupcakes. Contestant on Cupcake Wars some years back. They catered our wedding. The cupcakes turned out fantastic and were all eaten! Red velvet, chocolate peanut butter, and lemon rosemary are a few of our favs!

Short hours so check them online. The last two doughnuts we had here sold us! One was a cherry almond glazed doughnut and the other was a chocolate oatmeal stout frosted doughnut. Absolutely delicious from the first bite all the way to licking our fingers clean!
