Luke's is a great steak place. Nice dinner for two or four. Not too loud, comfortable and a very nice evening out. I would reserve if you plan on going there on a weekend. Within a 5 minute drive.

Another great steak place! This is a reasonably priced, great atmosphere. I enjoy sitting up at the bar and eat dinner there. Make reservations. Parking is crazy, so I would suggest you go early.

If you are a plant based eater, I highly recommend Vital Root. Within 8-10 drive, parking is a little tricky, but everyone raves about this place. I have not physically eaten there in person, but have had food delivered and I thought it was all very tasty. There are many plant based restaurants in Denver and most are not too far from the house.

If you love Indian food, this is the place. Within 5 minutes drive, and they even ask you how spicy you would like the food prepared. I love the Chicken Tika Masala.....so good.

This mexican restaurant is about a 15 minute drive to the small town of Morrison. If you haven't been there, it is a fun, funky place and it is worth visiting. Parking is limited, but there are a lot of cute little shops that you can stop in and visit while you are there.

This is one of Denver's finest. The atmosphere is incredible and the food is exotic. This is truly for a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday and it is a 3-4 course meal. It is an event. Make reservations. You won't be disappointed. 20 minute drive.

This place has great food! It is located in Golden which is about a 15-20 drive. It is located in Historic downtown Golden. If you have visited Golden, it takes you back to the old west. Fun and lots of fun places to explore.

This place is to die for! The flavors of the food are incredible. And they have their own parking lot. It has been in Denver for many years and the food is over the top good. It is an evening out and very enjoyable. About 10 minute drive.

We are considered to be just off the Edgewater locality. Drive about 10 blocks to the east to the Edgewater Public Market that is located at 20th and Depew. There is a lot going on there as far as food, stores and festival cocktail hours. You can walk or drive. Sloan's lake is located two blocks away from the Marketplace, so you can park there and walk around the lake. Very nice park and lake.

This is a fairly new area in Denver that has evolved over the last 15 years. The outside art work is something to see and they have plenty of restaurants and things to do. It seems to be a younger crowd of 20-40, but I have older friends that like to wander there once in awhile for the viewing of the new artwork.

This is fun day or even an afternoon trip that is within 20 minute drive. Evergreen is a funky downtown with lots of shops and restaurants. If you happen to go on the weekend, Bears Inn's is a fun bar that also serves food that have great live music and the old western atmosphere. It is a beautiful area in the mountains and the lake is beautiful with lots of things to do. I recommend you drive there, instead of using uber.

The Light Rail is 10 blocks south. Takes you downtown.
The Light Rail is clean, safe and a great way to get downtown to see the sights. 16th Street mall has a lot of going's on, as well as Lodo and Rino areas.

Red Rocks Outdoor and Indoor Venue
If you have not been to Red Rocks, this is a must see. It is free and there is an indoor visitors center that is awesome to walk through. Going through it during the day and not on weekends is suggested. If you happen to be coming to go a concert there, go early and enjoy the experience. You will never forget it!

You can Uber or Lyft anywhere at anytime.
I recommend that if you want to go downtown and visit the sites, Uber down there and back. It only takes about 10 minutes, but you can get around very easy downtown without a car. There is a downtown shuttle bus that is free that goes up and down the 16th Street mall. You can spend all day down there.

Taste of Colorado - Labor Day Weekend
This is an awesome event and lasts for 4 days. There are free concerts, tons of food and lots of other entertainment. It is held downtown and easy to get to and back. Not entrance fees, but the food is paid by tickets that you have to buy, so it can add up, if you are watching your $$$$'s.

If you are on a tight budget and are looking for the more affordable route, my suggestion is to buy a day light rail pass and visit may parts of the city. During the summer time, a lot of the suburb city's have events going on such as festivals, free concerts, farmer's markets. You can even pack a lunch and take it with you as your explore the city. Depending on the time of year, we can always find something to do.

Winter time skiers- budget friendly
Staying in Lakewood and going skiing in the mountains, but best way to save money is to pack your food and take it with you. Leave here as early as possible to avoid traffic. Be first in line to hit the slopes. Ski hard for 4 hours. Leave the slopes by noon back to Denver and enjoy a nice place out or cook for yourself when you get back. The mountain towns are very pricey, so beware of that.
