Clères Château is just 30 minutes leisurely drive from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil. The park animals roam freely. The magnificent mature trees are part of the breath taking scenary. Clères is a village 28km north of Rouen in Normandy. It was developed around the château in the 11th century. The Château was destroyed by the French army in 1418 and has been restored 3 times.

Pourville has a small sandy beach, which has a lovely restaurant overlooking it namely Le Regate. This is a great place to take a dip and sunbathe on the sand afterwards. It is 30 minutes drive from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil.

It is a popular pebble beach, and the town has many amenities. It is 36 minutes drive from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil. Warning: The pebbles are quite large and it is not always comfortable sitting.
The beach faces the Castle perched on the hill above. The beach is fascinating all year round.
Adjacent is a large grass park, suitable for games (frisbie, ball game, kite flying).

Le Touquest boost the best beach in Northern France. It is 1 hour's drive from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil. It is well worth the drive if you plan to spend a day by the sea. There are many excellent restaurants.

Le Touquest boost the best beach in Northern France. It is 1 hour's drive from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil. It is well worth the drive if you plan to spend a day by the sea. There are many excellent restaurants.
It is 47.1km approximately 50 minutes drive from holiday let Beau Soleil. Until 1851, Saint-Aubin, a fishing hamlet, was part of the commune of Langrune. Emancipated, it owes its development to the activity of sea bathing. The medicinal virtues of seawater and its invigorating air have earned it, and still earn it today, the name Queen of Iodine.
The Belle Époque atmosphere of its sea wall and its villas, its casino and its five restaurants on the seafront are a delight for holidaymakers.
The 1.8 km pedestrian dyke dotted with pretty villas with seaside architecture.
On the beach, you can see wooden poles connected by thick ropes: these are the vestiges of the time of "sea bathing by rope". They allowed bathers to enjoy the benefits of water in complete safety. You can always hold on to it for safe bathing.
Supervised swimming: supervised beach from July 4 to August 29, 2022, according to the tide times. Dogs are allowed all year round on the beach, except from June 15 to August 31 in the area from the Green Crabe restaurant to the summer sailing club. Remember to bring a poop bag!

There is a V1 launch site at Pommeréval. This is extra ordinary as the ramp it is intact, complete with an unlaunched V1 rocket, also known as a Doodle Bug. For those interested in history, this is a 'must see'. It is a 10 minutes drive from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil.

There are three Doodle Bug factories still in evidence here. This is 5 minutes from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil. The RAF bombed it successfully in 1944 hitting the roof and making the site redundant.

What a great fortune to have this tremendous amenity just 1km from our holiday cottage, Beau Soleil. It was laid in year 2000 when the redundant railway line was dismantled. It is 64km end to end and links Dieppe with the charming town of Forges les Eaux. It is wonderful smooth tarmac suitable for cycling, walking, horse riding and even roller blading. This is a popular route for fund raising events cycling from London to Paris.
We walk our dog here almost daily. By the way, we are a Dog Friendly holiday cottage!
