Great bay for views and surfing and beach combing - all year round! Easy hike with kids and pets. Nice hike up to Falcon Point. Great for beginner surfers because its inside (minimal rip current or sharks).

Awesome bay, superb drive in/out in the redwoods, limited parking but worth the hassle. Spend the whole day here, including sunset.

Its in the Goonies movie! Everyone goes there. Cool to watch the puffins fly down and also fun to walk Cannon Beach (which is a great day trip from Manzanita).

Great drive across the river into Washington...see the coastal waterway before it is discovered and becomes coveted and expensive. Astoria was one of the first western settlements on the West Coast (trading post, Astor Fur) and then home to the famous Bumble Bee tuna cannery. The town is coming back alive and there are great metro coffee shops, hotels, stores, restaurants, and walking around everywhere.
