Sightseeing
Either a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive puts you in front of one of the oldest and most unique covered bridges in New York!
It sits above the the Ausable River and overlooks the mountains. It's a great pitstop during your trip and you'll leave with some great photos!

Flume Falls
5257 NY-86 ScenicA nice 2.7 mile loop with river and peak views (note there are other trails that intersect with this one in case you want more mileage!). If you’re looking for a close dinner spot, look no further than the Ice Jam. This is a quaint restaurant and inn that is open for Wednesday - Sunday. We recommend making a reservation, as they can be booked up by 4pm. If you want to test your luck, Thursdays are their slowest night and you may be able to get by without a reservation. Ice Jam has both indoor and outdoor dining (unfortunately they are not dog friendly).
The Ice Jam has a great menu that has vegan and vegetarian friendly options. Note the restaurant only serves beer and wine (no cocktails). Friendly service and healthy sized portions- this is a great spot!

Bring sweaters and/or long sleeves - even in summer!
While the summer days may be hot, nights tend to cool in this area. We recommend always packing a light jacket, long sleeve, or cozy sweater for those cooler nights!

A vehicle is the fastest way to get around.
However, if you are staying during the winter months, there is a free ski shuttle to Whiteface 7 days a week from mid December to mid March. The shuttle can pick you up from the Jay Village Green (5 min walk - between Mill Road and Parkside Road).

AMR Trail System
If you are hiking any trail that begins from the AMR lot, please make sure to make a reservation for your vehicle, otherwise you will not be able to park your car (this is a hard rule and they will make you turn your car around - we know first hand!).
Note that dogs are also not allowed at this trailhead, even if you have a reservation.

The Skiing!
In full honesty, we have only skied/snowboarded here in April! But, wow! We can’t wait to be here during peak season. What an undervalued mountain! The vertical is awesome for the East Coast and the discounted Spring tickets made for a fantastic value.
In 4 hours, we did 9 runs, with NO WAITS and recorded 20,000 feet in vertical, 16 miles, 90 minutes on the lifts/gondola, and 100 minutes downhill. The other hour we indulged in a nice hazy IPA at the lodge. We recommend purchasing your lift tickets online (and it may at times be mandatory).
