Gorgeous views and wonderful hiking all around. Stop off .5ish miles north of the lighthouse on 101 for a hike along the ocean to the lighthouse. (You will see other cars parked off to the side of the road. Hike starts on the West side of the road and there will be signage.) Parking if free and experiencing the lighthouse from this perspective is very enjoyable. Also, avoid all the tourists! Plan for most of the day as this hike is a bit of a trek from Newport, but so worth it! Stop at the Green Salmon for lunch or breakfast!

Heceta Head Lighthouse

This is my all time favorite hike. It never gets old. You will not be sorry for the amazing views of the mouth of the salmon river leading into the ocean. During the spring make sure you have your allergy routine in check! This trail is well maintained.

This is a wonderful trail with a large swinging bridge and beautiful waterfall. This hike is a great place to escape to on a windy coastal day as it is a bit inland and sheltered. Pack food and water.... there are no places to eat or stop. Parking is around 5$ as well, cash only. The drive is up a windy, paved old logging road so be cautious getting there.
