Our favourite easy walk in the Lake District, following a great 4.5 mile path around the lake, surrounded by stunning scenery and mountains. It's about an hour's drive to get there, with car parks at both ends of the Lake. We recommend you park at the Gatesgarth farm car park and walk an hour back to Buttermere village, where you can enjoy lunch half way around at either the Bridge Hotel bar, the Fish Inn or the cafe in the village. It's about a 2 hour walk in total.
