Drive to see the view or hike down to the beach, which is a 5-minute drive away from the ranch. Please be mindful that this is a sacred place, and a sacred burial ground, for Hawaiian people. This is far away from us in Hilo but this is our favorite shaved ice place on the island. Including this spot in case you venture out that way. Don't forget to add mochi to top your shaved ice. Everything is organic, even the syrups!!

Beaches/Snorkeling Spots
Closest and one of our favorite snorkeling and swimming spots. There is no sand and no beach here. You jump or climb down a ladder from a large concrete slab into the ocean. Always lots of fish here. Kids and adults alike love this spot!

Also known as Beach 69, this is our favorite beach because there is a lot of shade here, and great trees for hanging hammocks. Lots of whale sightings during whale season as well.

This is a favorite of most of the kids that live on the ranch. There is no shade here but gorgeous, white sand. Great spot to boogie board. Rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world recently.

Reducing Trash and Waste for Hawaii
As you know we are located on a small island in the middle of the ocean. The island has limited resources and spaces for landfills. We aim to limit our trash as much as possible. We have amazing drinking water on our land so there is no need to buy bottled water. Buying items with the least amount of packaging possible really helps us accomplish that. Farmers' markets, bulk foods (which can be purchased at Island Naturals and Healthways II), and buying produce without packaging are some of the best ways to reduce your footprint while you are visiting.
