Right next to the wine merchant is a cute little store called Spruce, founded by a former Ralph Lauren alumnus this little home & provisions store sells everything from apple cider donuts to fine cheese, the perfect tablecloth and even Nom Wah Dumplings.

This spot just opened and is the unofficial new "hot spot" in the area. This a mixed use venue set inside the ruins of a historic building used for an oil pipeline in the late 1800's. It has food, drinks and events- check out their instagram for latest happenings and hours of operation.

If beautiful drives are your thing there is actually the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway. You can take this alternate route on the way to the farmhouse or on the way home and stop at The Hawks Nest for great views and hawks abound of course.

Upper Delaware Scenic Byway
I have notes in this for the Hawks Nest but there is an alternate scenic slightly longer route to get to the Farmhouse that you can take if scenic drives are your thing. You route to Port Jervis and then take the Byway from there. Really beautiful drive if you are coming during the day.

Get provisions in Callicoon before you get to the house
These are vacation towns in the Catskills and most places close early. Peck's is open till 7pm most days and 6pm on Sunday so stop in town before you get to the house to ensure you pick up the necessities on day 1. If you are coming in late from the city I strongly recommend bringing items with you for the first night.
If none of those things happened, don't worry- the Callicoon Brewery is reliably open late if all else fails.

Notes on things being open during the week.
Always check hours and days open and even give them a ring before you venture out, especially when it's farther away. TONS of places are not open Monday-Wednesday as they cater to weekenders. No one's cell works well out here so it's best to call ahead on the land line to make sure before you venture out.
